A silver-mounted oval snuff box, 19th century
In Meissen style, of bombé form, each side painted with a Kauffahrtei scene of merchants and their wares by a quayside, within an elaborate gilt scrollwork cartouche filled in purple, flanked by a purple bracket and miniature vignette, the cover with a similar cartouche, the inside cover with an similar scene, the base with a landscape scene with a horseman and another figure, the mount with scroll thumbpiece, 6.8cm across, crossed swords mark to interior base in underglaze-blue
