The shape of this box corresponds with another Loosdrecht box in a private collection, and the exact moulds for this box were found during excavations surrounding the Loosdrecht factory, as published by Stichting Loosdrechts Porselein (SLOP) and De Historische Kring Loosdrecht in 2007, plate 84, cat.no. 168 (Nieuwenhuis/Van der Meulen et al. 2007). These flat biscuit rings with a continuous indentation to fit the edge of box and cover would allow the box to remain separated from its cover in the firing process, allowing both parts to fit seamlessly after firing, without sticking together.
Other marked Loosdrecht boxes of the same width but lower and without moulding are illustrated in Den Blaauwen/Zappey 1988, cat. nos. 211-214. These are again illustrated by Trumpie 2007, p. 150, cat. nos. 1-3.
