A Saint Cloud gilt-metal-mounted snuff box, circa 1740
The cover and base moulded in high-relief with a shell heightened in coloured enamels in a Kakiemon palette, the sides painted with Oriental flower sprigs, the inside cover painted with a chinoiserie scene depicting a figure standing by a fence, flanked by flowering bushes, the inside with a single flower sprig, 8cm across (slight rubbing to enamels on base)
