A Fulda gilt-metal-mounted oval snuff box, circa 1770-75
Painted on each side, the base and cover with a landscape scene depicting Watteauesque figures, including figures from the Commedia dell'Arte in park settings, each within a moulded rocaille cartouche, the inside cover with a similar scene depicting a gallant serenading two seated ladies, with Pierrot eavesdropping behind a tree, the interior gilt, the mounts with shell theumbpiece, 8.1cm across
