An important Ellwangen or Schrezheim gilt-metal-mounted oval snuff box with a portrait of Fürstprobst Anton Ignaz Josef Graf von Fugger, circa 1769

Of flared oval form moulded with a basketwork ground reserved with four scroll-edged cartouches heightened in gilding on the box, and a large cartouche on the cover, the box with four landscape scenes including buildings and figures, the base with a similar scene and the cover with a view of Ellwangen, the inside cover superbly painted by Johann Andreas Bechdolff with a half-length portrait of Anton Ignaz Josef Graf Fugger zu Kirchberg und Wiessenhorn, 7.9cm across; 5.2cm high
