An Empire gilt bronze mantel portico clock
first quarter 19th century

Of architectural outline, the pediment with stiff leaf ornament above a frieze applied with mythical beasts, with pierced pointed arches to the sides, the circular white enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, inscribed MENAT A PARIS RUE DU ROULE, the twin train movement with outside count wheel striking on a bell, raised on fluted columnar supports and plinth base with outstepped corners.
