Two Staffordshire enamel scent bottles
circa 1765

The first modeled as two doves, their beaks suspending a banner inscribed Prenes le pour modeles, with gilt metal stopper in the form of a bird, height 3 1/2in (9cm); the second, of bottle form decorated with panels of floral sprays against a pink ground, with gilt metal stopper in the form of a dolphin, height 3 1/2in (9cm), together with a gilt metal mounted cut glass and porcelain scent bottle with bird finial, inscribed J'AIME VERTU, height 2in (5cm).
