FLOWN APOLLO 13 LUNAR MODULE EQUIPMENT NETTING SEGMENT.

An approximately 1-inch square segment netting removed from Lunar Module Aquarius prior to jettison. Mounted on a Typed Signed Letter by Fred Haise.

FRED HAISE'S provenance letter reads in part: "This segment of netting material displayed below was part of Lunar Module 'Aquarius' and went around the moon on the flight of Apollo XIII during April 11 to 17, 1970. The segment was cut from an Interim Stowage Assembly that was removed from 'Aquarius' prior to LM jettison before our re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.... At about 56 hours into the mission, an oxygen tank explosion in our Service Module caused a major loss of electrical power to the Command Module. Jack Swigert first radioed: 'OK, Houston, we’ve had a problem here....'"
