GORDON'S LARGE US FLAG FROM APOLLO 12.

CARRIED TO THE LUNAR SURFACE, CREW-SIGNED.
Flown Flag, silk, 8 x 11½ inches Mounted in a 16 x 20 inch mat board with crew signatures and a 4-inch cloth crew emblem.

Accompanied by RICHARD GORDON'S signed provenance letter which reads in part: "This American flag flew with Conrad, Gordon, and Bean aboard Apollo XII – Yankee Clipper making the final descent to the Lunar Surface, Ocean of Storms, aboard Intrepid November 14-24, 1969. It is from my personal collection." Size and weight constrains during lunar missions limited the number of large flags any one flight could carry. Flags of this size taken to the lunar surface are exceeding rare.
The mat board is INSCRIBED AND SIGNED: "Flown to the moon on Apollo XII, Richard Gordon." Additionally signed by CHARLES CONRAD and ALAN BEAN.
