RETIREMENT FROM NASA.

2 items relating to Webb's retirement from NASA:
1. Presentation photograph album, containing illuminated certificate of appreciation signed by Edgar M. Cortwright and other NASA directors, 68 color and black and white photographs, and 16 signatures of Webb's NASA colleagues, January 16, 1969, 15 x 11 inches, mock calf, upper cover with inset plaque, rubbed, lower joint splitting.
2. Large color photograph of the Vehicle Assembly Building at KSC, 15 x 19 inches, signed below on mount by 27 NASA colleagues, framed with plaque of Webb quote.

The album was presented to James Webb after his retirement from NASA in November of 1968, and shows the futuristic high points of his career: zero-gravity facilities, aerodynamic testing, VTOL aircraft, the M2-F1 Lifting Body, the Scout rocket lift-off, the X-15, the XB-70, and various experimental space projects.
