LINDBERGH ON THE UPCOMING SATURN V TEST LAUNCH.

Typed Letter Signed ("Charles A. Lindbergh"), [Darien, CT], April 24, 1968, 1 p, 11 x 8 inches, to James Webb, on onion-skin paper, original envelope.

Confiding letter from Lindbergh to Webb, in which he states his interest in developments at NASA but demurs at a personal appearance. In part: "Writing very frankly, I have always tried to confine my activities in fields of missiles and space to a practical participation in their development. (Work with Robert Goddard, membership on military and scientific committees, etc.) I am most anxious to continue working and living as quietly as practicable. This means avoiding press contacts. I am under the impression that a test flight of the Saturn V launch vehicle would, quite naturally, be open to the press...."
