WEBB'S LARGE US FLAG FLOWN ON GEMINI 5.

Flown flag, silk, 12 x 18 inches, mounted and framed, the frame with a plaque reading: "To James E. Webb with appreciation for your dedicated work which helped make the GT 5 flight possible. This flag was carried on board Gemini 5 for 120 orbits August 21-29, 1965. Astronauts Gordon Cooper & Pete Conrad."

An unusually large flown flag, that spent almost 8 days in Earth orbit—twice the length of the preceding mission. Cooper later confessed that he wished he had taken a book on board with him.
