KENNEDY ON A SPACE RESEARCH CENTER.

1. Typed Letter Signed ("John Kennedy"), 1 p, 9 x 7 inches, Washington, September 21, 1962, to James Webb, staple holes.
2. Memorandum Signed secretarially ("John Kennedy"), Washington, August 15, 1962, for James Webb, staple holes and "received" date stamp.

In the letter, Kennedy praises Webb for his negotiations with the University of Pittsburgh on a proposed Space Research Center which was to be founded in the city but never came to fruition. The memorandum curtly asks Webb to explain a report that NASA budget appropriations might run at $123 million, twice the expected level.
