STAFFORD'S APOLLO 10 POSTAL COVER—SIGNED.

Postal envelope with a Heritage cachet featuring sketches of the Apollo 10 crew and a lunar orbit docking. Kennedy Space Center postmark dated May 18, 1969, the launch date of Apollo 10. The envelope is displayed between paragraphs of a Typed Letter Signed by Stafford.

With THOMAS P. STAFFORD'S provenance letter, reading: "The Apollo 10 envelope displayed below comes from my personal collection. The envelope was postmarked on the launch date of Apollo 10—May 18, 1969. I was commander of this mission. Fellow astronaut John Young served as Command Module Pilot and Gene Cernan was Lunar Module Pilot. Apollo X was a 'dress rehearsal' for the Apollo 11 lunar landing mission that occurred just two months later during July 1969. Apollo X proved that all the lunar landing flight techniques were actually possible to achieve. This envelope has my name on a label with my NASA-KSC mail code. I have signed this envelope along the upper left edge next to my picture."
