A Sèvres dish, circa 1790
Compotier coquille, of 'Bombelle' service-type, painted with a sprig of roses in the centre within a blue circle edged with gilt dots, a similar border enclosing a barbed gilt line with flower-heads, the rim with a border of small flowers and medallions enclosing roses and cornflowers, between blue-ground borders with gilt dots, 22.5cm across, interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letters nn and painter's mark pb (for Jean-Joseph-Philippe Boucot) in blue (some surface wear)
