A Sèvres covered jug and basin, circa 1764

Pot 'à l'eau ordinaire' of the first size and jatte ovale, painted by Louis-Jean Thévenet, each with a border of alternating flower heads within entwined gilt and fruiting foliage below a red-ground border embellished in gilding, the jug and basin with further entwined foliate borders, the basin with a meandering foliate band entwined with two gilt ovals in the centre, gilt dentil borders to rims, the basin: 30cm across; the jug and cover: 19cm high, interlaced LL monograms enclosing date letter L and painter's mark in blue, incised IC to jug and j.S(?) to basin (3)
