A Sèvres blue-ground cup and saucer, circa 1786
Gobelet 'cannelé' et soucoupe of the first size, reserved with gilt-edged panels enclosing narrow gilt-edged blue-ground panels surmounted by a gilt foliate motif, alternating with similar gilt-edged reserves, gilt dentil borders to rims, the cup: 7.4cm high; the saucer: 14.4cm diam., interlaced LL monogram and (on the cup) gilder's mark Gi (for Étienne-Gabriel Girard) and date letters jj, incised gp on the saucer (2)
