A Sèvres cup, circa 1769
Painted by Jean-Louis Morin, the central octagonal cartouche with Turkish figures pulling ashore a sloop with goods, one Turk wearing a large white turban holding a lady in his arms whilst shooting at another boat approaching the shore, the cartouche set against a blue ground embellished with gilt trellis pattern enclosing single flower buds and vine leafs, 6.7cm high, interlaced LL monogram and date letter Q, painter's mark M and cross hatch in blue, incised BO (minor wear)
