A Sèvres biscuit figure a girl, circa 1765-70
Modelled by Falconet holding apples in her apron and another in her right hand, a basket on her left arm, mounted on an 18th-century Meissen pedestal moulded with gilt trailing bellflowers, 20cm high, incised x to base of pedestal

This figure, 'La Mangeuse de pomme', belongs to the series of 'Enfants Falconet deuxième grandeur' modelled between 1764 and 1766, for which see Falconet à Sèvres 1757-1766 ou l'art de plaire, exhibition catalogue, Musée national de Céramique, Sèvres, 6 November 2001 to 4 February 2001, pp.125ff., and cat. no. 60 for a similar model.
