Three Berlin leaf-shaped dishes, circa 1778
Modelled with overlapping leaves and naturalistically painted in shades of green and purple, two 21.5cm; one 26.5cm, sceptre marks in underglaze-blue, one with incised // inside footrim and 2 (all repaired) (3)

These dishes are identical to those belonging to the table and dessert service given by Frederick the Great to the Russian Empress Catherine's favourite, Count Potemkin in 1778 (see Von Sanssouci nach Europa (1994), p. 26 (ill.), and pp. 36-37).
