A Meissen purple-ground chocolate cup and saucer, circa 1735
Each painted with Kauffahrtei scenes, on the saucer within iron-red concentric circles in the centre, the beaker reserved with two quatrelobe panels, the single handle picked out in gold, gilt-edged rims, the saucer: 13.2cm diam; the beaker: 7.5cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, impressed numerals, painter's mark D in purple to saucer (2)
