A rare pair of Meissen beakers and saucers, circa 1735
The saucers decorated with a large chinoiserie figure flanked by vases and flowers on a gilt scrollwork bracket filled with Böttger lustre in a trellis pattern, the base of each with iron-red trellis panels above purple miniature chinoiserie vignettes, the beakers with three similar chinoiserie brackets, the saucers with flower sprigs to the reverse, gilt-edged rims, the beakers: 7cm high; the saucers: 12.7cm diam., crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, C. in gilding to the beakers, impressed .. inside footrims (4)

The decoration of the chinoiserie figures is highly reminiscent of the quality of painting on pieces from the Clemens August service, the decoration probably stems from the same period.
