Stanhope House, a good painted wooden dolls house, English circa 1835
The painted red brick exterior with step leading to arched front door with metal door handle, fanlight with painted black panes, and simulated brick surrounding frame, having five rectangular glazed windows with window bars, coining and corner-stones, black painted slate pitch roof and two chimneys, front opens in two wings to four rooms on two levels, all rooms with paper parquet flooring, papered walls and three metal fire places, three with golden metal fire surrounds with moulded roses and one with angelic figures above, (some paint loss to exterior sides and back), This dolls house is illustrated in 'Collecting Dolls Houses, by Nora Earnshaw, 107cm (47in) tall, 79cm (31in) wide, 50cm (19 1/2in) deep.
