An Italian Halberd Of 'Scorpion' Type, And An Axe
The First In Late 15th Century Style, 19th Century, The Second 16th/17th Century

The first with spike of stiff diamond section, triangular blade balanced by a beak-shaped fluke and with two pointed side-lugs at the base, and tapering socket of oblong section, on wooden staff of octagonal section (some surface pitting); the second with off-set blade of 'goose-wing' form rising to a point and with incised and punched decoration on both sides at the bottom, and integral socket with flat block-shaped peen, on later wooden staff (2)
