A Pair Of Turkish 18-Bore Silver-Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistols
19th Century

With russet two-stage barrels and octagonal breeches, the latter each struck with two circular maker's marks in Arabic script along one flat, sparsely engraved tangs, russet border engraved flat bevelled locks (one mainspring detached) each struck with circular Arabic maker's stamp, full stocks profusely inlaid with white-metal wire scrollwork, pellets and pins (some losses), mounts cast and chased with trophies of arms and comprising side-plates, escutcheons, spurred pommels and trigger-guards (one finial replaced), long muzzle-sleeves embossed and chased en suite above flowering foliage along each side, and false ramrods with flowering foliage en suite (2)
