A Pair Of French 22-Bore Flintlock Belt Pistols For The Turkish Or Balkan Market
Indistinctly Signed P. LeComte, Early 19th Century

With two-stage barrels each retained by a deep silver muzzle-sleeve embossed and chased with foliage and flower-heads and each incorporating two ramrod-pipes, engraved tangs, signed rounded locks (one action defective, one cock replaced) each engraved with foliage on the tail, moulded lightly figured full stocks (one butt chipped) each set with a large pinned silver panel behind each barrel tang en suite with the muzzle-sleeves, foliate engraved flat bevelled side-plates, foliate engraved silver pommel-caps each with pointed terminal, iron trigger-guards each with shaped finial, and short belt hooks (iron parts with some wear and rust patination, ramrods missing) (2)
