An Ottoman 16-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol, And A Balkan 22-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol

The first with iron barrel (pitted) chiselled at the breech and retained by a white-metal muzzle-sleeve incorporating a ramrod-pipe and embossed and chased with a trellised design and foliage, grooved tang, engraved flat bevelled lock, wooden full stock covered in pinned parcel-gilt white-metal (incomplete on the butt) embossed and chased with foliate scrollwork, butt with spurred pommel en suite, later brass trigger-guard cast with foliage and retained by twisted wire around the butt, and scrolled trigger (ramrod and barrel band missing); the second with two-stage russet barrel struck with two marks at the breech (tang repaired, cover missing), engraved flat bevelled lock with roller, heavy silver-gilt half-stock (fore-end mostly missing and now with later cast finial) with curved butt and bulbous pommel decorated overall with raised foliate panels nielloed with flower-heads and foliage between ribands and against a finely punched ground, the back of the butt with a stand of flags, the trigger-guard en suite (rear finial replaced, barrel and lock rust patinated) (2)
