With sighted swamped barrel retaining traces of original blueing in places, numbered in Hindi on the top flat at the breech, chiselled at the muzzle and breech with Hindu deities within borders of running lotus and carnations, and retained by two shaped iron barrel bands (a third barrel band missing), the forward one incorporating a sprung trigger for the spring bayonet mounted to the right of the muzzle, tang chiselled with running flowering foliage, slightly rounded back-action lock engraved with foliage and incorporating a sprung trigger for the bayonet, hammer engraved en suite, iron side-plates with punched decoration within borders of pierced fleur-de-lys and each with a large terminal chiselled with flowering foliage, hardwood full stock with slender characteristic butt (minor old repairs), wooden butt-plate against a shim of ivory, fluted hardwood panel (adapted for the thumb) at the barrel tang, chiselled trigger, sling loops, and original iron ramrod with turned and faceted tip engraved with the same number as the breech
