A Sardinian 32-Bore Miquelet-Lock Gun, And A Composite 22-Bore Miquelet-Lock Carbine
The First 18th/19th Century

The first with slender tapering octagonal barrel (back-sight missing), plain tang, lock sparsely engraved with foliage (cock probably replaced), full stock with an iron plate along the fore-end with engraved foliate borders, the butt (chipped around the tang) with pinned iron panels pierced and chased with foliage, and with a tapering tubular iron comb engraved with diagonal lines between mouldings, iron mounts comprising large border engraved side-plate, slender butt-plate with waved edges, chiselled spur trigger-guard inlaid with a brass band, iron barrel band, and slender iron ramrod, possibly original (some wear and rust patination overall); the second with barrel moulded at the muzzle and retained by two white-metal barrel bands, white-metal tang, Spanish lock with fluted decoration, full stock with fluted butt inlaid with pieces of bone, bone butt-plate, iron belt hook, and exposed baluster trigger (ramrod missing) (2)
