With Persian curved finely watered single-edged blade chiselled on one side of the forte with a cartouche containing a name of God in Arabic script above a circular panel chiselled with a stylised lion, both panels with gold-inlaid borders, the hilt comprising border engraved quillon-block with pointed langets and tapering quillons with bud-shaped terminals, engraved grip-strap, and rounded rhinoceros horn grips (damaged and incomplete), the pommel pierced for a sword-knot, in original wood-lined silver scabbard embossed and chased with foliage against a punched ground, and shaped border engraved suspension mounts each with a ring for suspension
