A Fine Iron Barrel From An Early Matchlock Wall-Piece
Circa 1500

Of tapering octagonal section throughout its length and with pronounced muzzle decorated with fluted arches, tubular back-sight chiselled as a standing male figure, deeply struck with a mark (?) on one side and with applied flash-guard on the other behind the touch-hole, separate breech-plate, three lugs for the stock, and a hook beneath in the form of a chiselled monster's head (some pitting overall)
153 cm. barrel, 2 cm. bore
