A German Hand-And-A-Half Sword
Third Quarter Of The 16th Century

With broad tapering double-edged blade (some pitting) of flattened diamond section cut with three narrow central fullers on each side at the forte extending into the rectangular ricasso, the latter bordered by a fuller on each side and struck with a crescent-shaped mark on one side, russet iron hilt of slender faceted bars of circular section comprising long straight quillons swelling towards the tips, large concentric side-rings each swelling at the centre and linked by curved arms beneath to smaller concentric side-rings en suite, faceted stopper-shaped pommel, and bottle-shaped leather-covered grip
