With flattened waved double-edged blade stamped with a man-in-the-moon mark on one side towards the forte, long ricasso retaining its original blackened leather covering and with downpointed side-lugs, iron hilt sparsely incised with double lines and comprising large oval side-rings each enclosing a scrolled and pointed fleur-de-lys, slightly arched flat quillons each with three scrolls at the tip (one detached), tapering three-stage wooden grip bound with twisted iron wire, the central stage covered in blackened leather and cusped along each side, and large plummet-shaped segmented pommel incised with waved lines and dots
