With broad flat double-edged rebated blade (light pitting overall) with central fuller over its entire length on each side, one side etched 'Fiat Justitia Pereat Mundas', a Wheel of Justice and a cross beyond, and on the other 'Et Verbum Caro Factum Est', a gallows and a cross beyond, hilt comprising cross-guard dated along one side and engraved 'Hauns Jacob Wexler' (probably the maker's name) along the other, foliate engraved quillons of tapering circular section widening towards each button terminal, globular pommel chiselled and engraved with a band of foliage, button en suite with the quillon terminals, and tapering leather-covered grip, in original wooden scabbard covered in sparsely tooled brown leather (some surface damage) with brass locket, chape and locket to the pocket for a side-knife (missing) all embossed and chased with scrolls and foliage centred on a scallop shell
