Second Half Of The 17th Century
With tapering slightly shortened blade double-edged at the point and with a fuller along the back over most of its length on each side, the forte etched on both sides with hounds pursuing hares in a landscape (rubbed), iron hilt of slender faceted bars comprising downcurved rear quillon below a pair of straight quillons and knuckle-guard each with flat ovoidal terminal set with a domed boss, the last and the side-ring cusped at the centre and each set with three domed bosses, iron grip with central moulding and tall beaked pommel with chiselled border, and natural staghorn grips secured by four tubular iron rivets
