With slender double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section stamped 'Rambertus Grangertus(?)' within the single fuller on each side of the forte and struck with a profile head mark beyond, ricasso of rectangular section bordered by an incised line and stamped on each face with a bladesmith's mark, the initials 'IG' flanking an anchor, a heart and foliated branches, iron hilt of bars of circular section mostly interrupted by ovoidal knops and comprising swelling horizontal quillons with bud-shaped tips, pointed quillon-block with a raised teardrop-shaped feature on each face, arms (one broken), two outer side-rings, the upper one joined by a curved bar to the knuckle-guard, inner-guard of three merging curved narrow bars rising to join the knuckle-guard at the same point as the outer side-rings, associated compressed pommel encircled by a raised rib, and spirally-fluted wooden grip bound with twisted iron wire between Turk's heads
