A Basket-Hilted Backsword Of The 42nd Royal Highland Regiment (Black Watch)
Third Quarter Of The 18th Century

With slightly tapering blade cut with a narrow fuller along the back for most of its length on each side and stamped 'Drury' beneath 'GR' on one side towards the forte, iron guard of flattened bars framing ovoidal panels and saltires pierced with triangles and circles, fore-guards, scrolled wrist-guard, conical pommel with rounded button, and later spirally-fluted swelling grip bound with twisted iron wire
