The first with straight tapering double-edged blade of hollow-ground flattened hexagonal section (pitted), iron hilt comprising flattened quillons, one with diagonally recurved fish-tail shaped tip (the other an early working replacement), inner and outer side-rings each filled with a convex sprung-in plate elaborately pierced with stars and quatrefoils, the inner ring carrying a thumb-ring, and flattened heart-shaped pommel, decorated throughout with punched conventional scrollwork and foliage, the vertically-fluted wooden grip (replaced) bound with twisted brass wire between brass Turk's heads; the second with incomplete blade, the iron hilt (rusted and loose) of flattened bars, comprising outer side-ring filled with a pierced sprung-in plate, rear quillon, knuckle-guard, flattened globose pommel, and spirally-fluted wooden grip (damaged, binding missing) retaining its Turks' heads (2)
