Five Various Daggers
All 19th Century

Comprising a dagger in 17th Century style, with tapering blade of flattened diamond section, the iron hilt comprising ovoidal quillons and grip formed as openwork spirals; another, with tapering blade of hollowed triangular section, hilt with downcurved quillons (one broken) and side-ring, flat faceted pommel, and wire-bound grip; a stiletto dagger from a walking cane, with slender blade of square section etched with foliage and with twist central section, and ivory grip carved and pierced as twisted rope on a ring-shaped pommel; a composite stiletto dagger with later turned horn grip of tapering circular section, in white-metal scabbard; and a North African dagger with double-edged leaf-shaped blade of flattened diamond section, characteristic flat waisted hilt mounted in ivory between thin shims of pewter and horn, and iron pommel with central chiselled spike (5)
