A Bowie Knife
By Marsh Bro.rs & Comp.y, Sheffield, Late 19th Century

With bright double-edged blade of slightly hollowed flattened diamond section etched with scrolling foliage against a matt ground on one side, faceted hollowed rectangular ricasso etched and gilt on one side with maker's details with a foliated oval above a diamond-shaped panel of foliage, hilt comprising flat gilt-brass quillons cast and chased with foliate scrolls, embossed silver basal mount and pommel-cap, and grip formed from a section of antelope horn
