Footnotes

The lot is accompanied by a 1960 exhibition catalogue of the artist's work held at The Leicester Galleries, London. This current work is thought to have been purchased by a relative of the owners at a previous exhibition at the same gallery.

Chien-Ying Chang graduated from the College of Fine Art, Nanking before coming to London and studied at the Slade School 1947-1950.She has exhibited widely since that time in the UK.
