An album containing upwards of 200 images, the majority relating to the construction of lighthouses in some remote locations on the coast of Australia, and aborigines, gelatin sliver prints, well-captioned on the mounts and typically 110 x 85mm., half roan, spine defective, upper cover with paper label "J.F.R. No.1", small folio, [1913-1917]

An album recording the work of an engineer erecting lighthouses in Australia, who had previously worked on the construction of the Carrier Dock at Bootle, Merseyside (21). The Australian and New Guinea locations are: Wilson's Promontory, Waterloo Bay, Bass Strait (9 including lighthouse, drawing nets, koala bear); Citadel Island, Bass Strait (7 including 5 of the erection of the first acetylene light in Australia); Cape Liptrap, South Gippsland (12, 9 showing the erection of the light); Lighthouse Service ketch "Forbes Brothers" ashore on Rocky Islet (5); Flinders Island, Bass Strait (17 including quarrying, aborigines and their shelters); Port Darwin, Northern Territory (10 comprising the automatic at Fort Point, the new light at Emery Point and that at Point Charles); Port Moresby (10 ethnographic); Cape Don, Northern Territory (113 comprising construction work and aborigines including Alligator River aborigines, three of a man in the stages of throwing a spear, others making fire); Dhu Reef, Queensland (16 of the erection of an apparantly forgotten light); Coquet Island, Queensland (11 lighthouse); Clerke Island, Queensland (7 lighthouse), and a voyage in S.S.
