Footnotes

SIR CHARLES BARRY'S 'GOTHIC' WESTMINSTER BRIDGE: in 1836, having designed the new Houses of Parliament, Barry was commissioned to 'Gothicise' Westminster Bridge; the first drawing appears to date from this period, while the second probably dates from the 1840s.
