Included in the lot is Gollancz's copy of the limited-edition The Pearl, reproducing as frontispiece the drawing commissioned by Gollancz from Holman Hunt, this being copy no. 50 of fifty copies issued thus, bound in a fitted purple velvet jacket with glass beads by Edith Holman Hunt, and inscribed "With the Editor's grateful regards/ May 1891", one or two minor stains, lacking some beads on cover, small 4to, David Nutt: 1891. An Elizabethan receipt relating to the purchase by Elizabeth I's Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir Walter Mildmay, of the Manor of Fingrith in Blackmore, Essex, 1580, is also included.
Please note that one of the four Holman Hunt letters and the copy of 'The Pearl' are no longer included in the lot.
