LEWIS (C.S.)

Autograph letter signed, to Mr Kirkby, regretting that he is too busy with academic and evangelical work to accept his invitation: "I should dearly like to come but I shall then be in the last (and most hectic) week of term, so the thing is quite impossible; and even in the vacation I am so heavily committed to the R.A.F. that I can do little else", one page, on lined paper, 8vo (cut down from a larger sheet, 84 x 98mm.), Magdalen College, Oxford, 10 October 1942

Footnotes

Lewis gave lectures at RAF bases throughout Britain during the War, his first tour being that summer.
