Three inlaid iron small boxes and covers

By Komai of Kyoto, Meiji Period
Each worked throughout in typical gold nunomezogan, comprising: a miniature box in the form of an open fan, decorated with a seascape of thatched huts and a torii, Mount Fuji in the background, signed Kyoto Komai, 1.6cm x 6.6cm (5/8in x 2 5/8in); the second a rectangular box, with a central panel of Nishi Otani, signed Kyoto Komai sei, 3.1cm x 8.5cm (1¼in x 3 5/16in); the third of similar form, with a removable drawer, the cover showing Chionin, the sides with overlapping roundels enclosing figural, landscape and kacho-ga scenes, on a ground of vine leaves, signed with stamped seal Komai; 5cm x 7.1cm x 5.2cm (2in x 2¾in x 2in).
