Footnotes

Designed in the 1980's by Mark Edwards of Richmond Boathouse, the Thames Waterman's cutter was a replica of the workhorse of the River in the 1700's. The prototype, Buccaneer was built conventionally of timber, then used as a master for a series of GRP hulls, many of which are now owned by City Livery Companies. They compete annually for races on the Thames.
