A mahogany longcase clock, second quarter 19th century

Snell of Carluke
The 13 inch arched dial painted in polychrome and gilt with spandrels emblematic of trade and Empire and Highland warrior clansmen to the arch inscribed 'Scots Wha Hae We Wallace Bled', enclosing a painted Roman dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials, the twin train movement striking bell, enclosed by an unusual arched hood with castellated crest above a cross-banded trunk door on corresponding box base and square section feet, (probably replacement feet) 216cm high
