An important set of eight stained glass window panels, circa 1900

attributed to Stoddart & Paterson
Each panel with lead divisions depicting variations of a playing card character with painted hands and faces within mottled and coloured glass panels within later steel frames and mounts. 117cm high x 99cm wide (8)

Footnotes

These panels were formerly fixtures in the Education Department Buildings in Bath Street, Glasgow, prior to its conversion as The Art House Hotel.
The designs are likely to be by Andrew Stoddart (1876-1941) for the Studio of Oscar Paterson, who may have executed them.
