A fine ivory coloured silk train worked in silver threads, circa 1810

Probably French
The centre panel all-over decorated with stylised fleur de lys within border of stylised palm sprays and laurel wreath scrolls interspersed with flower heads, slightly tapering at one end, some areas of silk with tears and foxing.

Footnotes

This silk train was reputedly given to Sir James Dunbar by a French lady in recognition for saving her life when her ship floundered in the English Channel.
